Reputation Link Bait

What is the best link bait strategy? There are numerous ones out there, each right for a specific scenario. Finding ways to convince others to link to you is something that is an art and there are several ways that you can do it. One of the harder pieces of link bait is reputation link bait. This link bait not only gives you the links you carve, but also builds your reputation. While building quality links builds your reputation in some ways, building reputation links is a little bit different.

When you are seeking to better your reputation through links, you want people to recognize that you are doing something good and appreciate it. Creating link bait, however, is not about waiting around for the right moment to make you look good. What you need to do is look for the angles that you can pitch to consumers and get them to take a second look at what you have to offer them.

There are two good ways to build your reputation with consumers: capitalize on a current trend in the market, and build a large database of testimonials. The first method may grab more attention, particularly in a market where trends are constantly changing. Going green is one possible trend to capitalize on. Show how your products are green or release something that is more green than before, showing your commitment to the environment, and the things that are concerning people right now. There are numerous studies and acclamations lauding the greenness of one company over its competitors. Becoming one of the companies recognized in this campaign definitely builds your reputation and improves your likeability amongst consumers.

The second tactic is a little more difficult. It requires a little more than showing that you are in step with the times. It requires you to make sure that you are delivering quality to your consumers. While you should already be doing this, you have to make sure that you are giving your customers something that they are willing to write home about. The testimonials that you get from your customers can be used to prove your worthiness to other potential customers. The more praise you can get for yourself and the more praise that you can get from other sources will drive your links up as well as your reputation. No longer will you simply be getting links to your site, but you will be getting links that are connected to a positive image of your company.

Reputation Link bait, getting others to praise you and link to you for your merits, may not be the easiest thing to accomplish but if you are able to gain these links, you can be assured that you are also building quality links.
